What Blaze is known for
Blaze Outdoor Products is a Louisiana company that became a popular choice for built-in grills and prefab islands. The standard Blaze gas grill uses cast stainless burners, triangular stainless rod grates, flame tamers, and heat zone separators that let you run different temperatures across the grill. Ignition on many models uses a push-and-turn flame thrower system with a backup.
The LTE models add lit knobs and interior lights, and the Professional LUX line moves up to heavier construction and higher-end details. Blaze also makes charcoal grills, griddles, kamados, pizza ovens and outdoor kitchen components.
What we see on Blaze grills
- Ignition that stops lighting. Often grease or debris at the igniter or flame thrower path, a dead battery in the ignition module, or a worn electrode. See grill won't light.
- Flare-ups. Flame tamers and the grease tray loaded with fat.
- Lighting on LTE models. Knob or interior lights out, usually a power supply, a connection or a bulb.
- Grates. Rod grates encrusted with carbon.
- Spiders and debris in burner venturis, especially on grills that sit unused for a while.
Cast stainless burners are durable, so burner failure is less common on Blaze than on grills with thin-wall tube burners.
Cleaning a Blaze
We pull the grates, flame tamers, heat zone separators and burners. Ports get cleared, the firebox is scraped and degreased with a biodegradable cleaner, and the grease tray and drip path get cleaned out. We check ignition and flame on every burner and reassemble. Stainless is finished with a soft cloth along the grain. Grease and rinse water go into our containers and leave with us. More at grill cleaning.
Parts
Blaze parts are widely available for current and recent models, and the grills use fairly standard construction, which keeps repairs simple. The rating label is usually inside the grill or on the underside, visible with the drip tray removed. Blaze advertises a strong warranty on many parts; if your grill is covered, check with Blaze about warranty parts. Our warranty basics guide explains what warranties typically cover and what labor usually isn't. If you're shopping for a built-in, our choosing a built-in grill guide compares options.
Blaze grills often go into prefab islands with Blaze doors, drawers and a side burner. When we service the grill, we can check those pieces too, including the gas connections inside the island.
Blaze questions
My Blaze lights with a match but not the knob. Why?
The burner and gas are fine, so the problem is ignition: battery, electrode, wire or a blocked flame thrower path. That's usually a quick repair.
Are you a Blaze authorized service center?
No. We're an independent, insured grill service company. For warranty claims, contact Blaze.
Can you install a Blaze grill in my island?
Yes. We supply and install built-in grills and can check whether a Blaze fits your existing cutout. See built-in grill installation.
How often should a Blaze be cleaned?
Once a year for typical use, more often if you cook a lot. See how often to clean a grill.
