What grills deal with down here
The South Bay and Long Beach share a coastline, and that shapes most of what we see. In Manhattan, Hermosa and Redondo, plenty of homes sit a few blocks from the sand, and grills on rooftop decks and walk-street patios take salt air every day. The same goes for the Palos Verdes Peninsula, where homes on the bluffs get steady ocean wind, and for Belmont Shore and Naples in Long Beach.
A few miles inland the picture changes. Torrance, Lakewood, Cerritos, Downey and Bellflower are full of single-family homes where the grill is a freestanding cart or a built-in island added during a backyard remodel. Those grills tend to fail from use, not weather: grease packed into the firebox, igniters worn out, and burners that have been cleaned with a wire brush and nothing else for years.
Around the harbor, in San Pedro, Wilmington, Harbor City and Carson, grills also collect a gritty film from port and freeway traffic. It isn't dramatic, but it sticks to the grease on a hood and makes stainless look dull fast.

Common jobs in the South Bay
Grill cleaning
A full teardown cleaning: burners, grates, heat plates, firebox, grease tray and the outside of the hood.
Learn moreIgnition repair
Salt and moisture kill igniters and electrodes. We replace igniters, wires and modules on the spot when we have the part.
Learn moreRestoration
Grills that have sat on a beach deck through a few winters. Worn parts replaced, heat evened out, stainless cleaned up.
Learn moreHOA and community grills
Condo complexes and planned communities with shared grills by the pool. We put them on a schedule.
Learn moreGas conversion
Switching a grill from propane tanks to the home's natural gas line, with the right orifices and regulator.
Learn morePatio heaters
Coastal evenings are cool most of the year, so heaters get used. We fix the ones that won't stay lit.
Learn moreRooftops, walk streets and canals
Some of the trickiest setups in Los Angeles are here. Rooftop decks in the beach cities can mean three flights of stairs. Walk streets in Manhattan and Hermosa have no curb access at all. Naples homes back onto canals with tight side yards. We carry everything in by hand and set up a contained work area, so none of that keeps us from doing a full cleaning.
For homes close to the water we usually suggest cleaning twice a year, along with a check of the burners and valves. Our coastal care guide has the reasoning, and stainless steel care covers what to do between visits.

South Bay & Long Beach questions
Do you cover the whole Palos Verdes Peninsula?
Yes: Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates and Rolling Hills. For gated communities, give us the gate details when you book.
Can you clean shared grills at our condo complex?
Yes. We work with property managers and HOA boards on one-time cleanings and recurring service. See HOA and community grills.
My grill is on a third-floor deck. Is that a problem?
No. We carry our equipment up and contain the work area. If there's a narrow stairwell or no parking nearby, mention it so we plan enough time.
What does a cleaning cost?
It depends on the grill's size, brand, condition and any parts it needs. Call or text, or send a couple of photos, and we'll quote it.
