LomitaGrill Cleaning & BBQ Repair

Lomita is a small city of modest single-family homes, duplexes and mobile home parks at the foot of the Palos Verdes hills. Most grills here are workhorses, and we keep them working.

Workhorse grills

The typical Lomita backyard has a cart grill on the patio, maybe a smoker or a griddle next to it, and a lot of weekend cooking. Built-ins exist, but they're more often a simple block island someone added years ago than a full outdoor kitchen. These grills don't need pampering. They need someone to pull out the burners, clear the grease, fix the igniter, and get them heating evenly again.

That's most of what we do here. A good cleaning and a couple of parts usually turns a grill that's been limping along back into one you can count on. When it isn't worth it, we'll say so rather than sell you a repair that doesn't make sense.

Common fixes on Lomita grills

  • Replacing worn burners on Weber, Napoleon and similar cart grills
  • New flavorizer bars or heat plates that have rusted through
  • Igniters and push-button ignition that stopped sparking
  • Regulators and hoses on propane grills that won't get hot
  • Clearing spider webs from burner tubes
  • Cleaning out grease trays and fireboxes before they flare up
  • Assembling new grills so they're put together right

When a propane grill won't get hot

This is one of the most common calls we get from Lomita. Usually the grill lights, but the flame stays low no matter how far the knobs are turned. Most of the time the regulator's safety device has tripped, which happens if a valve was open when the tank was turned on. Sometimes it's a failing regulator or a kinked hose. Before you call, try this: turn off all the knobs and the tank, disconnect the regulator, wait a minute, reconnect, open the tank slowly, then light one burner. If that doesn't fix it, see low flame and weak heat or give us a call. If you smell gas at any point, stop and read what to do about a gas smell.

Lomita grill questions

Do you work on inexpensive grills, or just high-end built-ins?

We work on both. Plenty of our Lomita customers have cart grills, and they benefit from cleaning and parts just as much.

Do you service grills in mobile home parks?

Yes. Let us know about any park rules on access or work hours when you book.

Can you convert my propane grill to natural gas?

If the manufacturer offers a conversion kit for your model, yes. See our gas conversion service for more.

How much will it be?

Pricing depends on the grill's size, brand and condition and on any parts. Call or text us, or send a couple of photos, for a quote.
