Torrance doesn't have one kind of backyard. West Torrance and the streets near the Hollywood Riviera feel almost like a beach town, close enough that salt air shows up on stainless. Old Torrance, near downtown, has older homes on smaller lots. Central and North Torrance are full of single-story ranch homes from the postwar boom, many of them with grills that were added in a remodel and have been cooking ever since. And around the city, newer townhome and condo developments come with patio grills and shared community grills.
That variety is why we don't treat every Torrance job the same. A grill a mile from the beach needs different attention than one sitting in a sunny North Torrance yard by the 405.
Torrance grills, by type of home
Ranch homes with older built-ins
These tend to need burners, igniters and heat plates more than anything. When the firebox is gone, we replace the grill in the existing island.

Learn moreInland heat and what it does
Away from the coast, the bigger enemy is grease and heat rather than salt. Summer afternoons in North and East Torrance can get warm, and a grill that's used every weekend builds up grease in the firebox and tray fast. When that grease gets thick enough, it catches, and that's when people call us about flare-ups or a fire inside the grill. Clearing the grease path once or twice a year prevents most of it. Our page on flare-ups and grease fires explains the warning signs.
Families who grill a lot here often also have a flat-top griddle or smoker on the patio. We clean and service those on the same visit.

Torrance grill FAQ
Do you cover all of Torrance?
Yes, every ZIP in the city, including West Torrance, Old Torrance, North Torrance, Walteria, and the Hollywood Riviera.
My grill is a Weber I bought at a big-box store. Is it worth having serviced?
Often, yes. Good cart grills respond well to a cleaning and new burners or flavorizer bars. If repair costs would be close to a new grill, we'll tell you.
Can you service grills at our HOA's pool area?
Yes. We work with HOA boards and property managers on recurring service for shared grills.
My grill lights, but one side cooks much hotter. Can that be fixed?
Usually. Uneven heat often comes from clogged burner ports, a worn burner or heat plates that have rusted out on one side. A cleaning and a part or two typically evens it out. See uneven heat and hot spots.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the grill's size, brand and condition and whether it needs parts. Call or text us, or send photos, and we'll quote it.
