One region, three very different climates

This part of Los Angeles covers a lot of ground. It runs from the Malibu coast and the Palisades down through Santa Monica, Venice and the Marina, across the Westside to Culver City and Westchester, and east through Beverly Hills, Hollywood, Los Feliz, Silver Lake and Echo Park. The grills here don't all wear out the same way.

Near the water, salt is the problem. The marine layer drops a fine film of salt on stainless every morning it rolls in, and that film holds moisture against the metal. Hoods stain brown, fasteners rust, and burners near the beach flake apart years sooner than they would inland.

Up in the canyons and the hills (Topanga, Bel Air, Beverly Crest, the Hollywood Hills) the bigger issues are dust, ash, critters and access. Grills on those lots tend to sit unused for weeks, which is exactly when spiders build webs in the burner tubes and mice move into the cabinet below. Further inland and east, it's mostly grease buildup and age: older built-ins that have cooked a lot of dinners and never had the burners pulled.

Hillside access, gates and big estates

A fair share of our work here is up narrow canyon roads and steep driveways. That's fine. Our equipment is built to be carried, and we don't need to park next to the grill. If your property has a gate code, a guard booth or a house manager we should coordinate with, mention it when you book and we'll plan around it.

On larger estates the grill is usually one piece of a full outdoor kitchen. It saves time to have everything looked at in the same visit: the grill, the side burner, the pizza oven, the fire pit and any patio heaters. Ask about a maintenance plan if you want it handled on a schedule without thinking about it.

After a fire season

Wildfire ash reaches a long way on Santa Ana winds, and after the 2025 Palisades fire many grills across this region sat under a gray layer for weeks. Ash is mildly caustic when wet and works its way into burner ports, vents and cabinet interiors. If your outdoor kitchen went through that, a full cleaning and a check of the burners and gas connections is worth doing before you cook on it again. Our guide to ash and outdoor kitchens covers what you can do yourself.

Westside & Malibu questions

Do you really drive out to western Malibu?

Yes. We cover Malibu from the Santa Monica line out past Point Dume, plus Topanga and the canyon roads. Let us know if access is unusual.

My grill is near the beach and the burners are rusted through. Can they be replaced?

Usually. We carry common burners for most premium brands and can order the rest. If the firebox itself is rotted, we'll tell you plainly and talk about replacement.

Can you service a grill on a rooftop or balcony?

Yes. Plenty of grills in Santa Monica, West Hollywood and Marina del Rey sit on balconies and shared rooftop decks. We contain the mess and follow building rules on hours and elevators.

How do I get a price?

Call or text, or send a couple of photos of the inside and outside of the grill. Pricing depends on size, brand, condition and parts, so photos help us give you a real number.
