Wolf outside the kitchen
Wolf is part of the Sub-Zero Group, and most people know it for indoor ranges and cooktops. The outdoor gas grills were built to the same standard: heavy stainless, sealed construction, and serious burner output. Many have an infrared searing option and an infrared rotisserie burner at the back. The grills came in several widths, built-in and on carts.
Wolf's outdoor lineup has changed over the years, and some older models are no longer in production. That doesn't mean they can't be fixed. It means parts for those grills take more checking, and we'll do that checking before we promise anything.
What usually brings us out
Wolf grills hold up well, so the calls we get are mostly about age and use rather than defects:
- Burners that light unevenly or with lazy yellow tips, often from blocked ports or spiders in the venturi tubes. See uneven heat and spiders in burner tubes.
- Ignition that clicks but won't catch, or one burner that never lights.
- Infrared burners that were cleaned with water or degreaser and now light patchily.
- Heavy grease accumulation in the firebox and drip system on grills that cook a lot.
- Stainless that looks dull, streaky or tea-stained, especially on homes near the coast.
Cleaning notes
On a Wolf, most of the grease ends up beneath the burners and in the drip system, out of sight. We take out the grates, flame tamers and burners, scrape and degrease the firebox, clear every burner port, and clean the drip tray and grease path so they drain properly. Infrared burners are cleaned dry and inspected, never sprayed. Our cleaners are biodegradable, drop cloths protect your stone and cabinetry, and the dirty rinse water leaves with us. Last step is a careful polish on the stainless, following the grain. If your outdoor kitchen has more Wolf or Sub-Zero equipment, we can look at the whole island in one visit through our outdoor kitchen service.
Parts
For current and recent Wolf outdoor models, parts generally come through Sub-Zero Wolf's distribution. For older or discontinued grills, we look for original stock first, then for a suitable equivalent on non-gas-control parts like grates and some burners. If a grill needs too many hard-to-find parts, we'll tell you plainly and can help you choose a replacement that fits the island. Read finding parts for discontinued grills for more on how that works.
Wolf grill questions
Are you a Wolf factory service provider?
No. We're an independent, insured grill service company. For warranty work on a Wolf, contact Sub-Zero Wolf directly. For cleaning and out-of-warranty repairs, we can help.
My Wolf grill is older and no longer listed on their site. Can you still fix it?
Usually. Older grills need more parts research, so send us the model number and a few photos and we'll tell you what we can source.
Can you clean the rest of the outdoor kitchen too?
Yes. Side burners, warming drawers, refrigerator exteriors, pizza ovens and stainless doors can all be done on the same visit.
How often should a Wolf grill be cleaned?
For most households, once a year. If you cook outside a few times a week or live close to the beach, twice a year is better. See how often to clean a grill.
