Grills that feed a lot of people
Plenty of El Monte backyards host birthdays, graduations and long Sunday afternoons where the grill runs for hours. A grill that cooks for thirty people at a time gets more grease down into it in one party than a lightly used grill sees in a month. Do that every few weeks through a hot summer and things clog quickly.
What we find on heavy-use grills is pretty consistent. The heat plates are buried. The grease tray has overflowed into the cabinet below. Burners on the side that gets used most are rusting faster than the rest. Igniter electrodes are coated and only catch on the third or fourth try. None of that is unusual, and all of it is fixable with a proper teardown cleaning and a few parts.
Getting ready for a big cookout
A week or two before the party is the right time to check these.
- Light every burner and look for even, blue flames along the full length.
- Pull the grease tray and empty it, even if it doesn't look full.
- Check the propane level, and have a spare tank if you'll be cooking for hours.
- Brush the grates while they're hot, then oil them lightly.
- Look under the grill for spider webs or nests if it's been sitting.
- Do a soap test on the hose and regulator if the grill was moved.
If any of that turns up a problem, give us a call before the date. Our guide to getting your grill ready for summer goes through it step by step, and how to do a gas leak soap test shows the safe way to check connections.
Restaurants, food businesses and caterers
El Monte has a lot of restaurants along its main corridors, and commercial grills, charbroilers and flat tops in a working kitchen build up grease at a different scale. We clean commercial cooking equipment on a schedule that fits around service hours, including early mornings and closed days. The goal is cleaner equipment, fewer flare-ups and less grease heading for the hood system.
This is cleaning and repair of the cooking equipment itself. Hood and duct cleaning is a separate specialty. See commercial grill cleaning and commercial grill cleaning schedules for details.

El Monte FAQ
We have a party this weekend and the grill won't light. Can you come quickly?
We work seven days a week and do our best to fit in urgent jobs. Call or text with the problem and a photo, and we'll tell you how soon we can be there.
Can you clean during hours when our restaurant is closed?
Yes. Tell us your schedule and we'll work around it.
Is it worth fixing an older freestanding grill?
Sometimes yes, sometimes no. If the firebox is rusted through, a new grill usually makes more sense. We'll give you an honest answer on site.
How much will it be?
That depends on the grill's size, brand, condition and any parts. For commercial work, the number and type of units matter too. Call or text, or send a few photos, for a quote.
