Living at the edge of the forest
North of Foothill Boulevard, Glendora rises quickly into the hills. Streets wind up toward Glendora Mountain Road and the Angeles National Forest, and homes sit on sloped lots with patios that look out over the valley. It's a beautiful place to cook outside. It's also wildland edge, and the 2014 Colby Fire burned in the hills directly above town.
For a grill, foothill living means a few specific things. Ash and fine dust settle into burners during fire season. Leaves and pine needles pile up behind and under islands. Rodents and the occasional bigger visitor come down looking for food, and a greasy grill smells like dinner to them.
Foothill grill check after fire season or a wind event
A quick look you can do yourself before the first cook. If anything seems off, call us.
- Lift the grates and heat plates and look for ash, leaves or nesting material
- Clear debris from under the grill and around any propane tank
- Check that the grill cover is intact and still fits
- Look for chewed wires on igniters and grill lights
- Light each burner and watch for a steady blue flame, not yellow or patchy
- Wipe ash off stainless with water before it mixes with moisture and stains
Why ash is hard on stainless
Wildfire ash is alkaline and gritty. Left on a hood through a few damp mornings, it can dull and streak stainless. Scrubbing it dry scratches the finish. The better approach is to rinse it gently with plain water first, then clean. If your grill took a coat of ash and now looks tired, our stainless polishing service can usually bring it back. The guide on Santa Ana winds and ash covers this in more detail.

We cover all of it. Our techs carry common parts for most premium brands and a range of everyday ones, so many repairs get done on the first visit. We work cleanly, with biodegradable degreasers and all the runoff collected and taken with us.
Glendora FAQ
Is it safe to use my grill after ash fall?
Generally yes, once it's cleaned. Ash in the burners can affect the flame, so lift the grates and check first, or have us clean it.
Something has been chewing on my grill. Can you fix it?
Usually. Wiring, igniters and knobs are common replacements. We'll also show you where the animal is getting in.
Can you get up to homes on narrow hillside streets?
Yes. Let us know about tight access or steep driveways when you book and we'll plan for it.
How much does it cost?
It depends on the grill's size, brand and condition. Call or text, or send photos, and we'll quote it.
