Rosedale and the newer neighborhoods

A good part of north Azusa is newer construction. Rosedale, built on the former Monrovia Nursery land in the foothills, added thousands of homes over the past couple of decades, many in an HOA community with parks and shared amenities. A lot of these homes came with small yards and a gas stub on the patio, waiting for a grill.

That gas stub is where many of our Azusa jobs start. Homeowners want a built-in island or a quality freestanding grill hooked to natural gas instead of a propane cart. We can supply the grill, assemble or install it, and get the burners adjusted. If you're building an island, check your HOA's rules for outdoor structures first, and see our guide on choosing a built-in grill.

Older Azusa and the canyon edge

South of the foothills, Azusa has older single-family neighborhoods from the mid-century, plus the area around Azusa Pacific University and the downtown near the Gold Line station. Grills here have usually been around longer, and the issues are the familiar ones: burners rusting out, igniters that quit, grease packed into the bottom of the firebox.

Homes near the mouth of San Gabriel Canyon and along the foothills get their share of wind-blown dust, ash in fire season and summer heat that regularly tops 100. All of that ends up in the grill eventually.

Older grills also tend to come with older parts that are getting harder to find. Our techs carry common igniters, burners and valves for the brands we see most, and when a part has been discontinued we look for an OEM replacement or a well-made universal one before telling anyone to buy a new grill. Our guide on parts for discontinued grills explains how that search usually goes.

Azusa questions

My builder left a gas stub on the patio. Can you hook up a grill to it?

We can connect a natural gas grill to an existing stub with the correct hose and quick-disconnect, then leak-test it. Running a new line is plumber work.

Do I need HOA approval for a built-in island?

Many communities require it for permanent structures. Check your HOA guidelines before you build. We're happy to provide grill specs for your application.

Do you sell grills?

Yes. We're a dealer for built-in and freestanding grills and can help you pick one that fits your space and how you cook.

What does installation cost?

It depends on the grill and the setup. Call or text, or send photos of the space, and we'll quote it.
