Country living, country wear
The city was laid out to keep its rural feel, and it shows. Homes sit on large hillside parcels with avocado and citrus trees, long private driveways and plenty of open land around them. Outdoor kitchens tend to be generous, often paired with a fire pit, a covered patio with heaters, or a pizza oven out by the view.
That setting is what wears these grills. Wind across the hills carries dust and dry leaves into every opening. Rodents and other wildlife move in when a grill sits under a cover for a while. Spiders are everywhere. And because the city is surrounded by brush, ash from regional fires lands on outdoor kitchens more often than it does in the flats.
What we look at on a hillside property
On a typical La Habra Heights visit, we check more than the grates.
- Nests, droppings or chewed wiring under the burners and in storage cabinets
- Spider webs and debris in the venturi tubes
- Leaf and ash buildup in the firebox and around the grease tray
- Igniter and grill-light wiring for damage
- Gas connections on the grill, side burner and fire pit
- Fire pit burner pan, pilot and thermocouple
- Patio heater pilots and emitter screens
- Clearance between the grill and overhanging trees or dry vegetation
Fire safety on a brushy lot
A dirty grill on a hillside surrounded by dry grass is a real concern. Grease fires that would be a scare on a city patio can throw embers here. Keep the grease tray emptied, the heat plates clean, and trim back any branches hanging over the grill. Don't light the grill or fire pit on Red Flag days, and check local restrictions before using any open flame during high fire danger.
Our grill safety checklist is worth a read before summer, and fire pit won't light helps if your gas fire pit is acting up.

Roads in La Habra Heights are narrow and steep, and many addresses sit at the end of a long shared drive. When you book, tell us where to park, whether there's a gate, and how far the grill is from the drive. We carry gear on a cart and can handle long walks and stairs, but knowing ahead of time lets us plan the visit properly.

La Habra Heights FAQ
Mice got into our grill. Is it safe to use?
Not until it's cleaned and checked. Droppings and nests need to be removed and sanitized, and chewed wires or hoses can be dangerous. We handle the whole job.
Can you service the grill and fire pit together?
Yes. Most visits here cover several appliances. Tell us what you have when you book.
How much will it cost?
It depends on how many appliances there are, their size, brand and condition, and any parts. Call or text us, or send a few photos, for a quote.
